Where does the Festival take place?

This year’s Festival takes place across four venues in downtown Toronto, each hosting a range of screenings, panels, and community events:

  • Daniels Spectrum (3rd Floor Meeting Rooms) – 585 Dundas St E
  • Regent Park Community Centre (Banquet Hall) – 402 Shuter St.
  • Bevy – 738 Dundas St E

Central YMCA (Auditorium) – 20 Grosvenor St 

How do I get to the Festival?

By Transit: 

Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St E)

  • 📍 Located in Regent Park, just east of Dundas & Parliament.
  • 🚋 Take the 505 Dundas streetcar or the 65 Parliament bus (both have accessible low-floor vehicles).
  • 🚇 Closest accessible subway stations: Castle Frank (Line 2) or Queen Station (Line 1), then transfer to surface routes.

Regent Park Community Centre (402 Shuter St)

  • 📍 Near Shuter & Sumach Streets.
  • 🚌 Served by the 75 Sherbourne and 65 Parliament buses.
  • 🚇 Closest accessible subway station: Sherbourne Station (Line 2), then a short bus ride south.

Bevy (River & Dundas)

  • 📍 On Dundas St E at River St, a few blocks east of Parliament.
  • 🚋 Take the 505 Dundas streetcar to River St.
  • ⚠️ Note: Bevy is not wheelchair accessible (entrance has steps and no accessible washroom).

Central YMCA (20 Grosvenor St)

  • 📍 Just north of Wellesley St, between Yonge and Bay.
  • 🚇 Steps from Wellesley Station (Line 1), which has an elevator and automatic doors.

By Car

  • Paid parking and street parking are available near all venues.
  • Accessible parking spaces are available at Daniels Spectrum, Regent Park Community Centre, and Central YMCA.
  • Bevy does not have designated accessible parking.

By Bike

  • Paid parking and street parking are available near all venues.

Is there parking available?

Yes, parking is available near all festival venues, though options vary by location:

  • Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St E): Paid parking is available in the lot behind the building and on nearby streets. Accessible parking spaces are provided on-site.
    Regent Park Community Centre (402 Shuter St): Limited on-site parking, including accessible spaces, with additional street parking in the surrounding area.
  • Bevy (River & Dundas): Street parking only. There are no designated accessible parking spots at this venue.
  • Central YMCA (20 Grosvenor St): Paid underground parking is available at the YMCA, including accessible spaces. Additional parking lots can be found nearby.

We recommend using public transit, cycling, or accessible drop-off zones when possible, as parking in downtown Toronto can be limited during festival events..

How do I plan my route to the Festival if I have mobility limitations?

  • Daniels Spectrum: Step-free access from street level, elevators to 3rd floor. Transit: 505 Dundas streetcar or 65 Parliament bus. Closest accessible subway: Castle Frank or Queen Station.
  • Regent Park Community Centre: Step-free entrance with ramps. Transit: 75 Sherbourne or 65 Parliament bus. Closest accessible subway: Sherbourne Station.
  • Central YMCA: Step-free entrance, elevators to auditorium. Transit: Wellesley Station (Line 1, accessible).
  • Bevy: ⚠️ Not wheelchair accessible; entrance has steps.

Are service animals allowed?

  • Yes! Guide dogs, therapy animals, and other service animals are welcome at all festival venues, including Daniels Spectrum, Regent Park Community Centre, Central YMCA, and Bevy.

Is seating accessible and are there wheelchair spaces?

  • Daniels Spectrum: Fully accessible seating throughout meeting rooms.
  • Regent Park Community Centre: Wide pathways and accessible tables/seating available.
  • Central YMCA: Wheelchair spaces available in the auditorium; staff can assist with seating.
  • Bevy: Casual seating with standard chairs and few soft seating options upon request. ⚠️ Entrance has steps and no wheelchair access, so wheelchair spaces are not available.

Are assistive listening devices, ASL, or captioning available?

  • ASL Interpretation: Available only for Opening Night.
  • Closed Captioning: All films have closed captions, so viewers who are Deaf or hard of hearing can follow along.
  • Other assistive listening devices: Not provided.
