Hit The Road

When: July 16, 2025 | Pre-show at 7:30 pm | Movie at sundown
Where: Regent Park, Main Field, 620 Dundas St. E. Toronto, ON

About the film

Dir. Panah Panahi | Comedy/Drama | 1h 33m | 2021

The first feature from Iranian writer-director Panah Panahi (son of legendary director Jafar Panahi) follows a chaotic but loving family of four as they drive across the rugged Iranian countryside. A striking feature debut that is charming, sharp-witted, and deeply moving, Hit the Road takes the tradition of the Iranian road-trip movie and patterns it with the bittersweetness of conflicting emotions and things unsaid.

Director Bio

Panah Panahi is an Iranian film director. His debut film, Hit the Road, premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, and was named Best Film at the 2021 BFI London Film Festival.

★ Drop-in Zine Making with Aniqah Rahman: Participants will arrive at the zine making table where there will be guiding questions that align with the themes of the film being screened — this will provide direction for participants who want to create a zine but don’t know where to start. They will have access to a range of magazines, coloured and textured papers, markers, etc. along with suggestions from me to create zines they can take home.
