In partnership with the Social change Library in Regent Park, RPFF was please to present our second Black History Month Screening of 2021, taking place online. The community screening of Hope and Fury: MLK, The Movement and The Media was free to stream through our streaming platform, Cinesend.

Our first community screening of 2021 was Our Dance of Revolution, a documentary featuring the vibrant history of Toronto’s Black Queer community. The film was featured in our 2019 annual Festival and we thrilled to showcase the film again, this time online.

In 2020, RPFF hosted a sold out drive-in screening of Men In Black! The special screening was in partnership with the City of Toronto and the first of its kind for RPFF.

Our 2020 community screening of the local documentary Farewell Regent was our very first online screening. It was followed by a panel discussion with filmmaker Christene Browne, and youth panelists Mandeq Hassan and Tony Le, as they discuss the film and their experiences in RegentPark, moderated by Adnan Khan! RPFF partnered with the Toronto Centre of Learning & Development (TCLD) in early 2020 for a community screening of the film Time for Ilhan. The documentary was previously part of our 2019 annual Festival, however this more intimate screening allowed community members to examine and explore the nuanced themes presented in the film.

Our jam packed community screening with the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs in Regent Park, screened the Disney Pixar Shorts Collection Vol 3. RPFF presented family-friendly short films for a younger audience, featuring BIPOC characters and stories.
