Volunteer Spotlight – Shanid

September 3, 2013 by Ananya

Volunteers are the heart of our Festival! Over the next few months we are going to showcase some of the special people who work tirelessly to help keep the Festival running.

Meet Shanid. 2013 is his first year volunteering with the Festival.

Shanid – RPFF Volunteer

“Hello, my name is Shanid. I’m 17 and currently in highschool finishing my final year at Danforth Collegiate & Technical Institute.

I enjoy volunteering, playing sports, joining clubs & teams, and making a difference in my community. The reason I was so interested in volunteering with the Regent Park Film Festival is because I take pleasure in knowing that I am making a difference in the Regent Park community and that my involvement is a factor in which is helping a community come together and spread in diversity as one. Being a factor in helping a community grow, prosper, and spread it’s diversity is rewarding, and I hope to continue volunteering and helping out in the community as much as I can in the years to come.

PS. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.”

Thanks for all of your hard work Shanid!
