Winterfête
Daniels Spectrum | November 5 | 7:30 pm
As the days grow shorter, gather with us for an evening of warmth, good company, and dancing. Leading up to our upcoming 25th anniversary, Winterfête is our fundraiser party and a reminder that rest isn’t only quiet; sometimes it looks like letting loose on a dancefloor!

Mad Bills to Pay (or Destiny, dile que no soy malo)
YWCA – 87 Elm Street | November 7 | 4:30pm
19-year-old Rico (Juan Collado) spends his summer in a tight-knit Dominican American community in the Bronx, selling bootleg cocktails out of a cooler at Orchard Beach. His days are loose and unplanned, until his girlfriend Destiny (Destiny Checo) moves into his family’s small apartment, and their volatile young love plays out with everyone underfoot.

Edward Said: Between Worlds + Q&A
YWCA – 87 Elm Street | November 7 | 7pm
Born in Jerusalem in 1935, academic Edward Said spent his life between Jerusalem, Cairo, and New York, becoming one of the 20th century’s most influential intellectuals: revered by many, among the sharpest critics of the West, and a fierce advocate for a liberated and self-determined Palestine. Built entirely from archival material, Edward Said: Between Worlds follows Said across seven decades, from his Jerusalem childhood to his death in New York in 2003. Moving through the Nakba of 1948 and the 1993 Oslo Accords, the film shows how a life lived in exile shaped his scholarship and his advocacy.
