Our first film festival was held 21 years ago in Nelson Mandela Park Public School’s gymnasium. What started as a small community festival, meant to bring the multitude of cultural communities in Regent Park together through film, has become a platform for young, racialized creators, and an intergenerational gathering place to experience art that can change the way you see yourself and your community.
We have evolved and expanded these past two decades, but what has remained since day one is our commitment to providing free programming, as well as our steadfast work to remove barriers to access and participation by providing free childcare, free film submissions, and paying all artists for their work.
To achieve our mission, RPFF relies on the generous support of community members like you. 95% of our income is achieved through fundraising and that is why your donation – however big or small – will have a vital impact on our work and the communities we serve.
