As Mitzi Bearclaw turns 25 years old, she dreams of designing cool hats. When her mother falls ill, Mitzi must move back to the reserve to care for her. While the reserve bully and an old flame fall back into her life, Mitzi is on a journey to get her family back on track.
Shelley Niro is a Mohawk filmmaker and multi-disciplinary contemporary artist from New York and Ontario. She holds an Honours degree in painting and sculpture and a Masters in Fine Art. Niro is a member of the Kanienkehaka (Mohawk Nation), Turtle Clan, from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.
All Nation Jr’s Drum Group is made up participants 7-14 yrs old who meet regularly to practice drumming and singing. Some events they have performed in, include Council Fire 37th AGM, the PanAm Youth Summit at Dundas Square, CAMH Aboriginal Day Youth event, the 22nd Leonard Peltier Prayer Vigil/Event and Toronto’s closing TRC event at Queen’s Park.
The Regent Park Sewing Studio is a collective of people of all ages and cultural backgrounds who come together to create sewing projects. The group gathers every Friday, from 10am to 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm, at the TD Centre of Learning (540 Dundas Street East). From threading a needle to intricate sewing techniques to operating a machine, the Studio allows participants to learn from one another.
Quarantine Stories Film Festival is a digital short film festival and contest uniting quarantined creatives from across Canada with quarantined audiences. Supporting Canada’s creative community via exposure, cash prizes, and charitable donations
