Drum Circle
This activity is open to the public! Drum circle will allow audiences with little to no experience to play hand drums and learn basic rhythms. Join CMST (Community Music Schools of Toronto) faculty Waleed, in call and response games and music making in this musical park activation!
Community Music Schools of Toronto is a registered charity that gives children and youth a rich and rewarding music and social education, by removing the financial obstacle. For over 23 years we have seen that the study of music allows young people to flourish creatively, personally and academically…enriching their lives and future prospects.
Arts & Crafts
The ArtHeart team will be creating paper plate / construction paper animal masks with participants. You can make a panda (based on tonight’s film, Turning Red) or another animal you feel connected to in the moment. Materials will include paper plates, construction paper, glue sticks, popsicle sticks, crayons, and scissors.
Approaching 32 years, ArtHeart has been a stabilizing presence in the community of Regent Park, Toronto. ArtHeart provides free visual arts education, programs, materials, healthy snacks and nutritious meals for children, youth, adults, and seniors. By using their imaginations in a supportive environment, our participants are empowered to improve their quality of life.
Children’s Book Bank Free Books
Children’s Book Bank will be giving away free books for children and families, along with book readings and story sharing activities.
The CBB is a charity that gives away free books in many locations. Our main site is at Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas St. East.. In the past 15 years CBB has given away 1.5 million books across the city. CBB also offers fun literacy activities for families. Our goal is to spread the love of reading!

Director Bio:
Henry Selick is an American director, screenwriter and animator popular for his work with stop-motion animation and collaborations with fellow inventive storytellers like Tim Burton, Jordan Peele and Neil Gaiman. He’s directed The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), James and the Giant Peach (1996), and Coraline (2022).
